In this very busy world we live in with church, raising families, work, community involvement, women need a safe place to fellowship and grow together in Christ. At First United Methodist Church, we have a variety of Ministries that women can get involved in and receive encouragement from God’s people. United Methodist Women
All women, young and elders and those in between are welcome in United Methodist Women. Our purpose is to know God through Jesus Christ, fellowship with our sisters in Christ and serve Christ through missions, locally, statewide and worldwide.
UMW Circle Meeting Times:
Circle I: 10:00am on the 3 rd Wednesday of each month
Circle II: 2:00pm on the 4 th Monday of each month
Bible Study Opportunities on Wednesdays:
- Ladies Bible Study – 9:00am-11:00am
This study is for women with young children. They have done studies by Jen Hatmaker, Beth Moore, and many more. Childcare is provided for this study.
- Ladies Afternoon Bible Study – 3:30pm
This study is led by Rev Margie Van Oostrum. It is held in Room 202 in the Family Life Center. They study various topics and books of the Bible.
Hand-quilting group that meets every Wednesday at 9am-2:30pm. Everyone is welcome and can come and go as needed. Come to quilt, fellowship, eat, and laugh!
Piecemakers Quilting Group
This group meets once a month to learn techniques for making quilt tops. Contact Rev. Margie Van Oostrum at 580-471- 2746 for more information.
